ImmuSun, an all-natural supplement, contains the active ingredient
WGP™ beta glucan, a patented form of the complex carbohydrate
beta glucan, which is found in the cell walls of baker’s yeast
(Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Scientists discovered the immune-boosting
properties of beta glucan in the 1960s. Since then, they have documented

What is Beta Glucan?
Beta glucan is a complex carbohydrate of glucose, a simple
sugar. It can be derived from several sources, including yeast,
bacteria, fungi, and cereals such as oats, barley, and rye.
Each type of beta glucan has a unique structure in which glucose
is linked together in different ways, giving them distinctive
physical properties. For example, yeast beta glucan is branched
with beta 1,6 and beta 1,3 glucans, enhancing its ability
to bind and stimulate macrophages. The chemical structure
of beta 1,3 glucan is dependent on the source. Based on extensive
published research, it is widely accepted that the beta 1,3
glucan derived from baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)
is the most potent anti-infective beta glucan immunomodulator.
Beta 1,3/1,6 glucan is used in ImmuSun.
